About the event

Join ride leaders from the Bike Station for a social ride to explore the cycle paths of Perth, get fit and celebrate LGBT+ History Month at the same time! Please then join us to warm up with a hot drink after!

All are welcome and the route is suitable for all bikes. Under 16's are welcome but it is parents' responsibility to ensure they are confident riding their own bikes and able to ride the distance including the sections on road.

Route: Bike Station via North Inch Cycle Paths and North Muirton - approx. 6 miles.

What to bring: helmets are strongly advised, wear warm and waterproof clothing if it is cold or wet (glove and layers are useful!) and bring any snacks or drinks you may need to keep you going on the ride. There will be a cafe stop after the ride so please bring money if you would like to join us for this.

Please read the terms and conditions for led ride participants available here: https://thebikestation.org.uk/perth/social-cycle-project-perth/terms-and-conditions-for-social-cycle-project-guided-ride-participants/

Free bike loans

If you don’t have a bike, you can borrow a recycled bike for a month or longer.  It’s a great way to ‘try before you buy’ and learn more about what sort of bike suits you. We also loan accessories e.g. child seats so you could try doing the nursery run by bike!

First of all check you are eligible – loans are for adults living in Perth with proof of ID and address.  Bikes come with lights and a lock, while helmets are available at a discount.  No previous experience is needed because we’ll work with you to understand what you want to achieve.  We can help with cycle training, finding the best routes around Perth and anything else bike-related!  Finally, what do you have to do? We ask you to keep in touch, tell us about how you are using your bike, and complete a survey midway through the loan and when you return the bike.  Any questions get in touch - https://thebikestation.org.uk/perth/social-cycle-project-perth/
